How The FizzWizz Works

The FizzWizz is easy to use. Connect it to three points on your conditioning tank (brite, uni, or fermenter). We can help with fittings selection. Connections include the carbonation stone (CO₂ input), CIP arm (pressure/CO₂ during packaging), and a dedicated thermowell for the temperature probe.

Once connected, use the display to log a new batch and set the start temperature (3.5°C / 38.3°F recommended). Adjust start temperature as needed, and receive email alerts for chilling issues by using our remote monitoring feature.

Input your target volume and select a carbonation mode:

• Top-Up Mode: Adds carbonation to existing levels.
• Pre-Scrub Mode: Removes up to 50% oxygen per cycle (up to 5 cycles).
• Normal Mode: Starts from zero carbonation.

Set the flow rate with our calculator. Once everything is set the FizzWizz calculates the required pressure. Ensure tank pressure is near zero before starting.

The system monitors temperature and pressure throughout, ensuring CO₂ input is maintained until target pressure is achieved. 

When ready for packaging, switch to head pressure mode to maintain consistent pressure. An optional bottom pressure sensor ensures precise control for larger tanks.

After packaging, the FizzWizz is ready for the next batch. Use correctly sized carbonation stones for optimal turnaround and CO₂ efficiency. We recommend between 7 and 14 hours when carbonating from zero volumes to fit within an overnight carbonation model.

Remote Monitoring with BrewWizz IoT Service

The FizzWizz lets you remotely monitor temperature and pressure data through a web-based app, so you know exactly when your batch reaches its target. The app also helps identify stone performance issues or potential leaks. To save you from constantly checking, you'll get email alerts for any temperature or CO₂ issues. Choose the Correct FizzWizz Option

Why Do You Need Tank Fittings? Tank fittings ensure safe, compatible connections between your FizzWizz and tanks. The connections are necessary for:

1. CO₂ Input during Carbonation - Through the stone.
2. Head Pressure Readings - Via the CIP arm or drain outlet (bottom pressure sensor sold separately).
3. CO₂ or N Input during Packaging - Via the CIP arm
4. Accurate Temperature Readings - Using a dedicated thermowell for the FizzWizz temperature probe.

• Total volume of product vs volume of tank
• Specific gravity of product (thickness)
• Target carbonation level

Option A – No Tank Fittings

Choose this option only if you already have dedicated fittings installed on all the tanks you plan to use with the FizzWizz.

• Note on Check Valves: Our check valves are designed specifically for the FizzWizz. They must be installed at a 90-degree angle pointing up to prevent product from bypassing the check valve at the gas-liquid interface. Our check valves feature zero-crack pressure to prevent product discharge in case of accidental disconnect.
• Quick Connect Fittings: Ensure your current quick connect fittings are compatible with those provided by the FizzWizz.
• Thermowell: The FizzWizz temperature probe requires a dedicated thermowell for accurate readings. If you do not have a free port for a thermowell, see Options C & D.

Option B – Basic Tank Fittings

For use with existing stones and for tanks with a spare thermowell dedicated to the FizzWizz temperature probe.

• Included:
  • Stone Modification: Features compatible quick connect fittings, an isolation valve, and our zero-crack pressure check valve, installed at a 90-degree angle to ensure no product backflow.
  • CIP Arm Base Fitting: Includes a compatible quick connect fitting, isolation valve, and 1.5” tri-clamp connection.

Option C – Alternative Tank Fittings

For use with existing stones and for tanks without a spare thermowell dedicated to the FizzWizz temperature probe.

• Included:
  • Sample Port Modification: Uses a tee pipe to accommodate both a dedicated thermowell for the FizzWizz probe and a sample valve.
  • Stone Modification: Includes compatible quick connect fittings, isolation valve, and a zero-crack pressure check valve installed at a 90-degree angle.
  • CIP Arm Base Fitting: Features a quick connect fitting, isolation valve, and 1.5” tri-clamp connection.

Option D – Recommended Tank Fittings

Ideal for tanks without a spare thermowell and recommended for 20 BBL – 60 BBL tanks to support overnight carbonation times.

• Included:
  • Wizz Stone Combo: A high-quality ceramic stone that supports higher flow rates and maximizes CO₂ dissolution without scrubbing aromas or wasting CO₂ in the headspace. It also includes a built-in thermowell for the FizzWizz temperature probe, positioned directly at the stone for optimal accuracy.
  • Stone Modification: Features compatible quick connect fittings, an isolation valve, and a zero-crack pressure check valve installed at a 90-degree angle.
  • CIP Arm Base Fitting: Includes a quick connect fitting, isolation valve, and 1.5” tri-clamp connection.
